In the 2nd half, first Torres and then Masherano both talked back to referee; Torres earned a yellow card. Masherano who had already had a yellow for a tackle against Scholes ended up earning himself a red card. Rafael Benitez described the situation saying, “Javier was sent off for dissent, but to be sent off for asking the official something is a surprise.” The final score was 3-0 giving Manchester a clean 3 points.
Liverpool never had a chance to win, they were miserable
