Daniel Agger, the frustrated 23 year old Danish International with a metatarsal injury is to undergo surgery. Agger has only played 6 games this season and has been constantly plagued with injury. This rules him out for the UEFA Champions League and for crucial League hopes. The center backs place has been taken by Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel who was signed for €6 million in January of 2008. Agger is expected to be able to play next season
“It’s a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted. We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well, Daniel will be back for next season.”
