West HamAlan Curbishley went to Italy last week to finalize discussions concerning Gianluca Nani, the Sports Director of Brescia. Nani will begin working at West Ham in June and will improve “recruitment at the club, venturing down into the academy level…We took a good look at Brescia and what they have achieved. We are lacking at the club in terms of infrastructure and network” stated Curbishley. Nani would also be responsible for expanding the international scouting network and creating a stronger foundation for developing players.

Nani seemed optimistic about his transfer saying, “I met Alan and Scott Duxbury some months ago. We started to talk about the ambitions of the club. We have the same point of view. I am sure this is a club with incredible potential. We have to work to bring the club to its potential.”
